Color Video

In the past, video projectors were limited to high-theater installations that were very expensive house, but today these types of high definition projectors are available for less than $ 2,000.

If you plan on using a video projector for professional or personal use, a projector can provide many benefits. Depending on what will use the projector, there are certain things you should look for before making a purchasing decision.

Below is a series of questions that our product specialists, ask our customers before recommending a projector for them to buy.

How much light is in the room to be used the projector? Generally, the light entering the room of the more lumens you need a projector you have. The more lumens the projector has the brightest of the image is displayed, making it easier to see when in a bright room. Note that a projector with less than 1000 lumens may have that block almost all of the external light to be able to see the picture clearly.

What aspect ratio do not want the projector to the screen? The two main types of aspect ratios is 4:3 (standard) or 16:9 (widescreen and high definition televisions). Most people now are choosing projectors 16:9 for their home theaters, while a prefer the 4:3 format, as many movies made before 1953 are in that format.

Do you plan to take the projector with you? If you want a projector that is easy to take everything from one room to another or from one office to another, consider the size and weight of the unit. The most lighter and smaller the projector, which will be more portable.

Are you worried about the contrast of colors in the image? If you want a good contrast in color, as the blackest blacks and whitest whites, and then look at the contrast ratio of a particular projector. The contrast ratios range from 500:1 anywhere between 5000:1 and more. The higher the contrast ratio, the greater the amount of available colors. Therefore, the higher the contrast ratio is the more life like images that the projector can produce.

How do you plan on connecting to the projector? Make sure the projector in question have all entries available to be used. These include S-video, composite, component, HDMI, and many others.

What kind of accessories want with the projector? The projectors can come with many accessories, including cables required to establish a connection such as an s-video cable, HDMI cable, or something style. Make sure the projector has the necessary cables when buying a projector. Other accessories may include remote controls, laser, lens cap, etc.

Lumens: The unit of measurement for light output of a projector.

S-Video (separate video): An analog video signal that carries video data as two separate signals.

Composite: A single video connector that combines all the color and brightness signals in one cable using a single RCA connector male. Often yellow, is the most common type of analog video connection between the older VCRs and TVs.

Component: Video signal in which the luminance and sync information are recorded separately from the color information. Component is superior to the compound.

Definitions:

HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface): HDMI supports standard-definition video, enhanced, or high, plus multi-channel digital audio all in one cable.

Standard 4:3 Aspect Ratio: The shape of the standard (not widescreen) TVs, which simply means that the picture "framework" is 4 units wide for every 3 units high.

16:9 Widescreen Aspect ratio: The shape of widescreen TV, which simply means that the image "frame" is 16 units wide for every 9 units high. This relationship is used to HDTVs.
